PDEA: Close to P13M worth of illegal drugs seized in Pasay City

A total of P12,996,700 worth of assorted illegal drugs were seized by authorities on Thursday, December 5, during an interdiction operation in Pasay City, the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) said.

In a statement, the PDEA said that the Ninoy Aquino International Airport-Inter-Agency Drug Interdiction Task Group (NAIA-IADITG) confiscated 21 abandoned inbound parcels containing more or less 7,791 grams of marijuana kush valued at P10,907,400 and ecstasy tablets worth P2,089,300 at the Central Mail Exchange Center around 1:00 p.m.

Reports disclosed that the parcels containing illegal drugs were declared as tea, wiring harnesses, clothing, books and skin products.

The pieces of evidence will be submitted to PDEA Laboratory Service for laboratory examination while the "recipients", whose identities were not disclosed by the PDEA, will be charged for violation of Republic Act (RA) 9165 otherwise known as "The Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002."
