The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency-Central Visayas intercepted three kilos of marijuana leaves during a routine random inspection at the warehouse of a package forwarding company in Barangay Subangdaku on Thursday afternoon, Dec. 5.
The inspection was conducted by the K9 team of the PDEA-7 Seaport Interdiction Unit.
PDEA-7 information officer Leia Alcantara said the dried marijuana leaves with fruiting tops were packed into three blocks weighing around three kilos with an average market value of P360,000.
Two packs were consigned to one individual while the third was to another person. The PDEA-7 withheld the names of the consignees pending further investigation.
The sender and the two consignees will be charged with appropriate cases in court, said Alcantara.
The pieces of drug evidence were submitted to the PDEA-7 Regional Office Laboratory for proper disposition.
“The PDEA-7 commends the management of the forwarding company for assisting in the efficient and expeditious inspection and inventory of the confiscated dangerous drugs,” Alcantara said.
