Kindergarten pupil drowns in swimming pool

BACOLOD CITY – A five-year-old boy drowned in a swimming pool in a beach resort in Barangay Daga, Cadiz City, Negros Occidental on Wednesday, Dec. 4.

Police withheld the name of the victim but he is a resident of Barangay Tinampa-an, Cadiz City and a kindergarten pupil.

Police Lt. Col. John Joel Batusbatusan, Cadiz police chief, said the boy’s 22-year-old mother failed to notice that her son wandered around during a gathering.

A resort guest discovered the victim drowning and he called for help.

The victim was taken to a hospital where he was declared dead.

The incident was only reported to the police on Thursday morning, Dec. 5.
