Couple hacked to death in Negros Occidental

BACOLOD CITY â€“ A couple was killed and their 18-year-old daughter was wounded after they were hacked by unidentified persons in Sitio Binalbagan, Barangay Masulog, La Castellana, Negros Occidental on Thursday, Dec. 5.

Police withheld the names of the two fatalities aged 50 and 56 and their teenage daughter.

Police Major Rhojn Darell Nigos, La Castellana police chief, said the victims were on their way to their farm when they were attacked by four individuals armed with a bolo.

The couple succumbed to hack wounds in the head while their daughter was wounded in the head and taken to a hospital.

Police recovered the murder weapon in the crime scene.

Investigators are looking into grudges over agricultural farming as possible motive behind the incident.

Nigos said they have persons of interest and are establishing additional pieces of evidence to enable them to file appropriate charges.
