BACOLOD CITY – The Sugar Regulatory Administration based here has warned the people against individuals soliciting money after two incidents were reported to the police recently.

AZCONA (Glazyl Masculino)
The first happened on Nov. 26 when an unidentified person called an SRA supplier and solicited money in behalf of SRA Administrator Pablo Luis Azcona.
The supplier verified with the SRA and discovered that the caller only pretended to be Azcona to commit fraud.
Days later, an SRA utility worker received a call on Dec. 2 from their food caterer informing her that an unidentified Tagalog-speaking person called. He introduced himself as Azcona and asked for cash donation for victims of Mount Kanlaon.
Azcona said that the donation was intended for those affected by Kanlaon Volcano in Canlaon City, Negros Oriental. But he said that they never solicit as they have a budget for their programs.
“It’s weird because I am not involved in any solicitation,” said Azcona who described these calls as a scam.
He said that they will find ways to identify the persons behind the calls.
