Raul De Mesa, veteran banker, passes away at 81

Veteran banker Raul B. De Mesa, Chairman, President, and CEO of Abacore Capital Holdings Inc. and Director of Pacific Online Systems Corporation, has passed away at 81.

In a disclosure to the Philippine Stock Exchange, Abacore stated, “His untimely departure has left an irreplaceable void in our organization and in the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing and working with him.”

The firm added that De Mesa was a driving force behind the success and growth of Abacore, as he “led with integrity and purpose, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and care.”

Pacific Online commented, “He was a distinguished banker and gained a wealth of experience in the financial industry. He previously served as the President and Chief Executive Officer of Bank of Commerce, preceded by about 37 years of service in the banking industry, specifically in institutions like Security Bank, Manila Banking Corporation, and Far East Bank and Trust Company.”

De Mesa graduated from De La Salle University with a Bachelor of Arts in Business degree and from the University of Asia and the Pacific with a degree in Strategic Business Economics.
