The bests of Philippine billiards – the legends and current stars – are set to see action in the inaugural Mayor Stephen Palmares 9-Ball Invitational Billiard Tournament at the Arena Stadium in Passi City, Iloilo on Dec. 6 to 8.

The bests of Philippine billiards – the legends and current stars – are set to see action in the inaugural Mayor Stephen Palmares 9-Ball Invitational Billiard Tournament at the Arena Stadium in Passi City, Iloilo on Dec. 6 to 8.
Legends Efren ‘Bata’ Reyes and Francisco ‘Django’ Bustamante are leading an all-star cast to the tournament that offers a P500,000 prize pool with the overall winner getting the lion's share of P200,000.
Fellow great Ronnie Alcano and current pool masters in world 10-ball champion Chezka Centeno and all-Japan champion Johann Chua are also joining the tilt.
Up-and-coming AJ Manas and popular billiards content creator Jaybee Sucal are also in the mix.
“This is more exciting. This will be an action-packed 1st Mayor Stephen A Palmares 9-Ball National Open Billiard Tournament to be held on December 6 to 8, and we look forward to bringing more fun and excitement,” said promoter and tournament director Ramon Mistica.
"I hope to do well in this event," said Reyes, who served as the captain of Team Asia in the Reyes Cup, where they beat Team Europe in Manila last September.
