Gov. Eugenio Jose Lacson said P6,203,085,130 was allocated for the general fund and P254,454,664 was allotted for the Economic Enterprise Development Department, a special account under the general fund.
The increase in the budget was attributed to the province’s higher share from the National Tax Allotment (NTA).
Lacson thanked Vice Gov. Jeffrey Ferrer and the provincial board for approving the budget.
The governor noted that it is crucial to have the annual budget in place at the start of the year to ensure the smooth implementation of programs and services.
The 2025 Annual Expenditure Program was carefully crafted to address the pressing needs of the province, Lacson said, adding that it reflects their commitment to driving economic growth, enhancing public services, and prioritizing the welfare of the people of Negros.
With this budget, we aim to strengthen our initiatives, empower communities, and sustain our gains toward progress and development, Lacson said.
