Cop shoots robber dead in Zamboanga City

ZAMBOANGA CITY – A police officer shot and killed a suspected robber who hacked his cousin and tried to rob her residence here on Wednesday, Dec. 4.

A SUSPECTED robber was gunned down by a responsing policeman in Zamboanga City on Dec. 3.

Investigation disclosed that Police Corporal Keremieh Ruste Odavar, assigned to the Police Regional Office-9 (Zamboanga Peninsula), heard a commotion coming from the house his cousin, college student Girlie Jacob, and immediately responded.

Odavar encountered the male suspect, who was identified as Allen Agustin Salazar of Barangay Tumaga here, carrying a large bolo and a .38 caliber pistol when he was about to enter Jacob’s house.

The suspect pointed his gun at the police officer who shot the suspect.

Police found the suspect’s body inside Jacob’s room lying in a pool of blood.

Jacob was taken to the hospital.
