3 pupils drown in Isabela

TUMAUINI, Isabela – Three children drowned while swimming on the Cagayan River in Barangay Annafunan here on Tuesday afternoon, Dec. 3.

The victims were identified as Jhon Philip J. Pazzibugan, 8; Lawrence L. Bacani, 9, and Jerome Bacani, 10, residents of Barangay Annafunan and pupils of the Tumauini West Central School.

Police received a report from a concerned citizen at 5 p.m. that three children drowned on the river.

Authorities conducted a rescue and retrieval operation and the bodies of the victims were recovered at 6 p.m.

The victims were taken to a hospital where they were declared dead.

The Tumauini West Central School condoled with the families of the victims. Classes in the school were suspended on Tuesday due to heavy rain.
