Year-ender: K-pop, Korean stars who visited PH in 2024


Hallyu (Korean Wave) was very vibrant in the Philippines in 2024 as K-pop idols and Korean actors and actresses visited the country for concerts, fan meetings and other events.

The Philippines continued to be an important market for itineraries and events of Korean celebrities in 2024 with almost every weekend packed with shows. 

One striking characteristic of the Philippines is the avid and energetic fans. Korean stars have always noticed the loud cheers and screams from Filipino fans during events. 

Here are some of the K-pop and Korean stars who visited the Philippines in 2024:

JANUARY 

Super Junior member Yesung held his “Unfading Sense” solo concert in Manila on Jan. 6 at the New Frontier Theater. 

K-pop boy band Seventeen held their two-day concert “Follow to Bulacan” on Jan. 13 and 14 at the Philippine Sports Stadium, becoming the first international artist to perform at the stadium located in Ciudad De Victoria in Bulacan.

GOT7’s Mark Tuan had his "The Other Side" Asia Tour in Manila show on Jan. 14 at the SM North EDSA Skydome. 

Idol group NCT 127 staged their first stadium concert in the Philippines, the 3rd Tour: Neo City-The Unity,” on Jan. 21 at the Philippine Sports Stadium in Ciudad in Bulacan. 

Rock band The Rose had their Dawn to Dusk Asia Tour on Jan. 26 at Araneta Coliseum. On Jan. 27, solo artist Sunmi performed at the Samsung Galaxy AI Festival in Bonifacio Global City in Taguig.

FEBRUARY 

K-pop group ENHYPEN completed their “Fate” world tour with a grand show at the New Clark City Stadium in Capas, Tarlac, about more than 100 km from Manila, on Feb. 3, attracting about 25,000 fans. 

Meanwhile, Korean actor Park Hyung-sik returned to Manila and held his "SIKcret Time in Manila" fan meeting on Feb. 17 at the Araneta Coliseum. 

GOT7’s Youngjae held his second solo concert in the Philippines, “2024 Youngjae Asia Tour: Inside Out”, on Feb. 24 at the New Frontier Theater. 

2NE1’s Sandara Park also returned to Manila for an event as an endorser of a local beer brand.

MARCH 

K-pop idol and actress Yoona held her “Yoonite in Manila” fan meeting tour on the first day of March at the SMX Convention Center Manila. 

On March 2, Korea-based global Filipino group HORI7ON held their “Daytour” comeback showcase at Samsung Hall at SM Aura. 

Rapper B.I, aka Kim Hanbin, returned to Manila for “Privé Alliance Meets B.I,” a show which combined music and streetwear fashion, held on March 4 at the SM Mall of Asia Arena. 

Korean indie rock band Wave to Earth held two shows in Manila through their “The First Era Concert” on March 11 and 13 at the New Frontier Theater. 

K-pop idol and actor Cha Eun-woo had his “2024 Just One 10 Minute: Mystery Elevator” fan-con in Manila on March 16 at the SM Mall of Asia Arena. 

On March 17, singer Bobby of group iKON performed at his “2024 Bobby Zero Gravity Tour” in Manila at the SM North EDSA Skydome.

Korean rock band Xdinary Heroes held their “Break the Brake” world tour in Manila on March 23 at the New Frontier Theater.

APRIL 

On the same day, K-pop groups iKON and BTOB held their respective shows in Manila. 

At Araneta Coliseum on April 7, iKON had their “2024 iKON Limited Tour–Get Back in Manila,” their last concert in Manila before members started their military service. 

At SM Mall of Asia Arena, BTOB held the “2024 BTOB Fan-Con Our Dream” on the same day. 

On April 13, three Korean shows were held in Manila. Singer Whee In, a member of girl group Mamamoo, staged her first solo concert in Manila, “Whee In The Mood: Beyond,” at the SM North EDSA Skydome. 

At Araneta Coliseum, EXO’s Baekhyun staged his “Lonsdaleite” Asia Tour in Manila while actor Kim Seon-ho had his "Color+Full" Asia Tour at SM Mall of Asia Arena.

MAY 

K-pop boy band Treasure launched their “Relay Tour: Reboot” in Manila on May 4 at the SM Mall of Asia Arena. 

Girl group UNIS held their U&iS Fansign Philippine Tour in Cebu and Manila from May 4 to 6. 

The Kwave Music Festival was held on May 11 at the Burnham Green at Rizal Park, Luneta, featuring K-pop groups The Boyz and Fromis 9, and Filipino pop groups PLUUS and YGIG. 

Actress Park Min-young, who starred in the drama “Marry My Husband” and “What's Wrong with Secretary Kim,” had her “2024 Park Min-young Asia Fanmeeting ‘My Brand New Day’ In Manila” on May 12 at the SM North EDSA Skydome.

On May 25, Korean actor Ahn Bo-hyun held his fan meeting in Manila at the New Frontier Theater. 

Boy band ENHYPEN returned to Manila for a meeting held on May 28.

JUNE 

The first day of June had three Korean shows. Singer IU drew nearly 40,000 Filipino fans at her HEREH World Tour Concert on June 1 at the Philippine Arena in Bulacan.

Girl group TWICE had a fan meeting at SM Mall of Asia Arena while solo artist Bang Ye-dam held his fan meeting at Samsung Hall at SM Aura. 

Korean rapper B.I returned to Manila and held his 2024 tour “Hype Up” on June 9 at the SM North EDSA Skydome. 

On June 15, singer Lucas had his “Lucas Fancon Tour in Asia: Fiat Lux: 熙” in Manila at the New Frontier Theater. 

Two shows were held on June 22. EXO’s Suho held his “2024 Suho Concert Su:Home Asia Tour” in Manila at the Araneta Coliseum.

At the nearby New Frontier Theater, “Lovely Runner” star Byeon Woo-seok had his “Asia Fanmeeting Tour: Summer Letter in Manila.” 

“Queen of Tears” star Kim Soo-hyun met fans at his “Eyes on You” Asia Tour in Manila on June 29 at the Araneta Coliseum. 

Sandara Park returned to the Philippines with actor Jung Il-woo and visited Bohol.

JULY 

Boy band SHINee’s Onew reunited with Filipino fans after seven years at his “Guess!” fan meeting in Manila on July 4 at the New Frontier Theater. 

The cast of “Running Man,” the longest running variety TV show in South Korea,  held their “Run 2 U: Running Man Live in Manila” show on July 6 at the SM Mall of Asia Arena. They were Yoo Jae-suk, Song Ji-hyo, Kim Jong-kook, Haha, Jee Seok-jin and Yang Se-chan. 

K-pop girl group IVE came back to the Philippines for their first world tour “Show What I Have” in Manila held on July 13 at the SM Mall of Asia Arena. 

On the same day, Korea-based global Filipino idol group HORI7ON and EXO’s Xiumin performed at Samsung’s Galaxy AI Festival in Bonifacio Global City in Taguig. 

Idol group RIIZE held their fan-con in Manila on July 14.

AUGUST 

K-pop girl group ITZY held their "Born To Be" in Manila concert on Aug. 3 at the SM Mall of Asia Arena.

On the same day,  drama “Queen of Tears” star Kim Ji-won held her “2024 Kim Ji-won 1st Fanmeeting Be My One In Manila” at the New Frontier Theater. 

On Aug. 10 and 11, NCT Dream completed the Asian leg of their “The Dream Show 3: Dream( )scape” world tour in Manila at the SM Mall of Asia Arena.

K-pop idol and actor Kim Myung-soo had his “Reboot” Asia Tour Fan Meeting in Manila on Aug. 10 at the New Frontier Theater.

HORI7ON released their version of “Sumayaw Sumunod” and performed the song on Korean music shows. 

Members of K-pop group The Boyz held their Zeneration II world tour in Manila on Aug. 25 at the SM Mall of Asia Arena. 

EXO’s D.O. held his “2024 Doh Kyung Soo Asian Fan Concert Tour Bloom In Manila” on Aug. 31 and Sept. 1 at the Araneta Coliseum.

SEPTEMBER 

K-pop girl group NewJeans performed at the Coke Studio Ultimate Fandom Concert on Sept. 5 at the SM Mall of Asia Arena. 

K-pop star Xiumin of EXO graced the opening of the Korea Travel Fiesta 2024 on Sept. 7 at Glorietta in Makati. 

GOT7’s BamBam held his "Bamesis" showcase tour in Manila on Sept. 8 at the New Frontier Theater.

K-pop group Red Velvet met fans at their “Happiness: My Dear, ReVe1uv” Fancon Tour in Manila on Sept. 14 at the SM Mall of Asia Arena. 

Global group Katseyed visited Manila on Sept. 17 to 19. 

Korean actor and model Jang Ki Yong had his “Beautiful Day” Asia Fanmeeting in Manila on Sept. 28 at the Samsung Hall at SM Aura.

OCTOBER 

K-pop idol group ZEROBASEONE held their first ever concert “Timeless World” in the Philippines on Oct. 12 at the SM Mall of Asia Arena. 

K-pop artist Chanyeol of EXO returned to Manila and held his one-night “2024 Chanyeol Live Tour: 都市風景 (City-scape) in Manila” on Oct. 19 at the Araneta Coliseum. 

K-pop stars Rain and Hwasa of Korean girl group Mamamoo performed at IAM Worldwide’s “His7ory 7th Anniversary” on Oct. 20 at the SM Mall of Asia Arena. 

K-pop girl group UNIS will be returning to the Philippines to hold a fancon (fan meeting and concert) in Manila and Cebu City.

NOVEMBER 

HORI7ON returned to Manila and held their "Daytour: Anchor High” concert on Nov. 3 at the SM Mall of Asia Arena. 

On Nov. 12, K-pop idol and actor Kim Myung-soo, known as L of boy band Infinite, attended a contract signing event in Manila with Universal Records Philippines and GLXY Entertainment for his career in the Philippines. 

After 10 years, K-pop group 2NE1 returned to the Philippines and held their sold-out “Asia Tour: Welcome Back” concert on Nov. 16 and 17 at the SM Mall of Asia Arena. 

K-pop idol Chen of EXO finished his five-city “2024 Chen Fan-Con: Beyond the Door Asia Tour” in Manila on Nov. 23 at the New Frontier Theater. 

Boy band Stray Kids had their “dominATE” world tour on Nov. 23 at the Philippine Arena in Bulacan. 

SHINee’s Taemin held his first solo world tour in Manila, “Ephemeral Gaze,”on Nov. 24 at the Araneta Coliseum.

DECEMBER 

“Hip-pop” powerhouses including Lucas performed at the V1BE Manila show on Dec. 3 at the SM Mall of Asia Arena. 

On Dec. 6, ENHYPEN held their “DES7INED ENHYPEN | DUNKIN' Fun Meet” on Dec. 6 at the Araneta Coliseum. 

On Dec. 21, Korean star Jung Hae-in, star of dramas such as “D.P.,” “Love Next Door,” “Snowdrop,” “One Spring Night,” “Prison Playbook” and “Something in the Rain,” held his “Our Time” Fanmeeting in Manila at the New Frontier Theater. 

On Dec. 31, K-pop girl group ITZY performed at the “NYE at the 5th” celebration held in Bonifacio Global City (BGC) in Taguig.
