A 27-year-old mother gave birth to a baby girl exactly at midnight on New Year’s Day at Dr. Jose Fabella Memorial Hospital in Manila on Wednesday, Jan. 1.
Lea Mae Razo, the mother, endured 13 hours of labor that began at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 31.
“Mahirap naman po talaga mag-labor. Lahat ng sakit, nararanasan pero kapag nakita ko na si baby, worth it kahit papaano (Going through labor is really hard. You feel all the pain, but once you see the baby, all the hardships become worth it),” Razo shared.
Razo expressed her happiness and surprise at giving birth exactly at the stroke of midnight, adding that she hopes 2025 will bring new blessings to her family.
The mother named her baby girl Alea Jayde, a name inspired by combining her and her husband’s names.
Dr. Fabella Hospital Senior House Officer Dr. Jergen Cruz confirmed that the delivery went smoothly without any complications.
