Vice President Sara Duterte on Wednesday, Jan. 1, called on the Filipino people to welcome the New Year united in facing challenges that will strengthen us as a nation that has faith in God and stands in solidarity to improve the lives of our families.
Duterte reflected on the year 2024—a time that she said challenged the Filipino resiliency and shaped them as citizens who know how to stand firm for justice and progress.
“Sa ating pagsalubong sa Bagong Taon, ako ay nagpapasalamat sa inyong walang-sawang pagmamahal sa bayan na ipinamalas ninyo sa inyong pagsusumikap, pagtitiis, at pagtitiyagang magkaroon ng mas magandang kinabukasan (As we welcome the New Year, I'm grateful for your everlasting love for the nation which you showed by hard work, endurance and perseverance to have a better future),” she said.
Duterte said she is one with the Filipino people in their dreams to achieve progress and peace.
"Atong atubangon ang bag-ong tuig uban ang paglaom nga ang tanan natong mga kalisod ug mga paningkamot sa ngadto-ngadto, makahatag og positibong kausaban (Let's welcome the new year with our hopes that all our hard work and perseverance will deliver a positive change)," she added.
"Ang lahat ay para sa Diyos, sa bayan, at sa bawat pamilyang Pilipino. Happy New Year sa inyong lahat! Shukran (All for God, for the nation, and for all Filipino families. Happy New Year to all! Thank you)," she said.
