PBBM pays tribute to Jimmy Carter: A model of power to do good
"He was a model of the power to do good."
This was how President Marcos paid tribute to former United States President Jimmy Carter who passed away at the age of 100.

Carter, the 39th US President, was a humanitarian who practiced what he preached, Marcos said.
"Jimmy Carter, former president of the United States, was a humanitarian who practiced what he preached : Houses for the homeless and human rights for the oppressed," the President said in a statement on Monday, Dec. 30.
"Guided by his faith, he was a servant leader who pursued peace in places torn by war and prosperity in societies broken by want," he added.
Marcos further honored the American leader, saying the values he fought for were embraced by people around the world, including Filipinos.
"These are universal values he fought for which are embraced by people everywhere, including Filipinos, as the cornerstone of a better, kinder society they deserve to live in," Marcos said.
"He was a model of the power to do good, with the benefit of public office or bereft of it, driven, not by politics nor personal gain, but by pure love to one’s fellowmen," he added.
Carter died on Sunday afternoon (US time) in Plains, Georgia.
