The Parañaque City government designated firecracker areas to ensure a peaceful celebration of New Year.
Parañaque City Mayor Eric Olivarez told residents to visit the official Facebook page of the Public Information Office them to know the designated firecracker zone in the city.
Olivarez also asked residents the lists of firecrackers not allowed or they may face sanction for violation based on the City Ordinance No. 17-10 Series of 2017.
He said the City Ordinance states that it shall be prohibited for any person or entity to discharge, explode or consummate the use of any firecracker, pyrotechnic device or any other similar devices and materials in place or areas not designated as firecracker zones.
The mayor said the penalties to be imposed for violations were P1,000 fine and confiscation firecrackers and pyrotechnic devices and materials; P3,000 for the second offense and P5,000 for the third offense and imprisonment as may be determined by the court of competent jurisdiction.
Olivarez advised residents that for any emergency, they may call at National Emergency Hotline 911 and at Parañaque Hotline: 8820-7783 (PQUE) for assistance.
