Teodoro led the awarding of certificates to the board passers at the Kapitan Moy on Monday, Dec. 2. Each board passer also received cash incentives worth P5,000.
A P25,000 cash reward was also given to PLMAR graduate Christian Eley Bismonte, who bagged the Top 5 spot in the nursing licensure examination. He also received a Certificate of Excellence from the local government.
According to Bismonte, he attributed his success in the board exam to the high-quality education offered by the city-run university, as well as the opportunity of being able to acquire his nursing degree for free.
“Gustong-gusto ko pong magpasalamat sa Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Marikina dahil binagyan po kami ng pagkakataon na makapag-aral ng 100 percent free tuition fee (I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude to Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Marikina for giving us the opportunity to study with 100 percent free tuition fees),” he said.
“And at the same time, ang quality po ng education ng PLMAR ay hindi nalalayo sa quality ng ibang universities. Naniniwala po ako na ang tagumay nating ito ay siyang magiging ebidensya kung gaano kaganda ang kalidad ng edukasyon sa ating pamantasan (At the same time, the quality of education at PLMAR is on par with that of other universities. I believe that our success will serve as evidence of the excellent quality of education in our university),” he added.
He also thanked Mayor Marcelino “Marcy” Teodoro for their continuous support of PLMAR and its students.
Meanwhile, Rep. Teodoro expressed how proud she was upon learning that a PLMAR graduate secured the Top 5 spot in the said board exam.
“Alam niyo, sabi ni Mayor Marcy, wala sa pamahalaan ang lakas ng PLMAR. Wala din sa teachers; nasa mga estudyante at kayo iyon (Mayor Marcy said, the strength of PLMAR is not in the government. It’s not in the teachers; it’s in the students, and that’s all of you),” she said.
“Kayo ang inspirasyon ng bawat estudyante, guro, pati ng mga namumuno ng PLMAR. Kaya po matatag ang PLMAR dahil sa mga estudyante. Matatag kami dahil sa inyong mga nursing board passers. Kaya maraming-maraming salamat sa inyo (You are the inspiration of every student, teacher, and even the leaders of PLMAR. That’s why PLMAR is strong, because of the students. We are strong because of you, the nursing board passers. So, thank you very, very much)," she added.
