The Pasay City government celebrated its 161st anniversary with a colorful parade of lights and street dancing competition on Monday, Dec. 2.
Pasay City Mayor Emi Calixto-Rubiano led the parade which started along Cabrera St. near the San Roque Parish Church at around 3:00 p.m.
Rubiano said councilors and department heads also have their own colorful floats that paraded around the city.
She said the last stop of the parade was at the Cuneta Astrodome where the winners in the street dance competition was announced followed by a free concert by the Itchyworms band.

The mayor said students from the Pasay East School was declared the champion in the street dance competition.
Rubiano said Christmas season will officially start in the city with the lighting of the giant Christmas tree at the City Hall ground, on Tuesday, Dec. 3.
