“Gamit na gamit ang CCTV sa city hall ng Pasig ah (The CCTV at Pasig City Hall is certainly getting a lot of use!).”
“Mayor ba’t naman sa CCTV ng munisipyo ka nag video? (Mayor, why film using the City Hall’s CCTV?).”

These are just some of the comments from netizens to Pasig City Mayor Vico Sotto after he uploaded a TikTok video with “low quality,” as he explained the city’s door-to-door initiative in delivering Noche Buena packs to families in the city for Christmas.
In the video, Sotto explained some of the reasons behind the local government's approach to distributing Christmas gift packs. However, netizens seemed to focus more on the quality of the video, which quickly became a topic of both amusement and teasing among viewers.

Netizens also jokingly pointed out that Sotto is clearly not a corrupt politician because of the seemingly low-quality phone he used to record the video.
Some of them said, “Grabeng phone 'yan mayor, halatang hindi kurap (That's quite a phone, mayor, clearly not corrupt),” and “Eto and tunay na mayor hindi inuuna ang iPhone (He is a true mayor because he's not prioritizing an iPhone).”
Others even playfully told Sotto to use public funds to buy the latest model of mobile phone.
"Mayor, papayagan ka namin gamitin ang kaban ng bayan pambili ng phone, please (Mayor, we'll allow you to use the public funds to buy a phone, please).”
"Mayor, kumupit na po kayo sa kaban ng bayan huhu (Mayor, please take from the public funds already).”
“Sige na mayor pinapayagan ka namin magbulsa para pambili ng bagong CP (Go ahead, Mayor, we're giving you permission to pocket some for a new phone).”
Meanwhile, others pointed out that while the video may have had low quality, the message Sotto aimed to convey was clear. Some commented, "Low-quality man ang phone, high-quality naman ang governance at serbisyo (The phone may be low quality, but the governance and service are high quality)," and "Ang labo ng camera ni mayor, pero yung pagiging transparent nya ang linaw (The mayor's camera may be blurry, but his transparency is clear)."
Fair governance
On the other hand, some claim and testify that in Pasig, everyone, regardless of who they are or where they come from, receives the Christmas gift packs fairly, as long as they reside in the city.
“Nangungupahan lang kami sa Pasig pero 2 yrs kaming nakatanggap ng pamaskong handog. Never kami tinanong kung botante ba kami don or matagal ng nakatira (We are just renters in Pasig, but we've received Christmas gifts for two years. We were never asked if we were voters there or if we've been living there for a long time),” one netizen said.
“Hindi ako taga Pasig, pero yung friend kong taga d’yan, nakatangap na ng noche buena package, may kaya pa ang kaibigan kong taga dyan, pero lahat daw binibigyan mahirap or mayaman (I'm not from Pasig, but my friend who lives there has already received a Noche Buena package. My friend is well-off, but they said everyone gets one, whether you're rich or poor).” another netizen said.
Sotto emphasized that all Pasigueños, regardless of their background or status, should receive the Pamaskong Handog.
