15 fugitives nabbed in Surigao del Norte


BUTUAN CITY – Police arrested 15 wanted persons in Surigao del Norte province from Nov. 28 to 30.

Surigao del Norte Police Provincial Office Director Police Col. Nilo T. Texon said among those apprehended were two individuals from General Luna, Siargao Island for qualified theft; two elderly men and one woman for illegal gambling in Dapa; a 24-year-old woman from Del Carmen town and a 25-year-old man from San Isidro municipality in Siargao for child abuse; and an elderly man from Placer town and a 45-year-old male from Socorro municipality for violating the Violence Against Women and Children (VAWC) law.

Texon said commended operating units for their achievements.

"I extend my heartfelt commendation to every Surigao del Norte police officer who played a role in this bold and decisive crackdown,” he said. 

“This successful operation is a testament to the unwavering commitment and teamwork of our police force in upholding justice and protecting our communities.”

He said the suspects are under the custody of arresting units.
