The Korean series “Squid Game” season 2 has captured the attention of Netflix viewers around the world.
“Squid Game” season 2 premiered on Dec. 26 with much anticipation from fans who wanted to know the continuation of the story from season 1 in 2021, which is Netflix’s most watched show to date.
According to streaming ratings website FlixPatrol, “Squid Game” season 2 grabbed the No. 1 spot on Netflix in 93 countries and territories on Dec. 28, one region more than the 92 countries and territories that the show topped on Dec. 27.
“Squid Game” season 2 took the No. 1 spot on Netflix in countries such as the Philippines, US, Japan, Canada, France, Thailand, Indonesia and Australia.

Korean media outlet Daily Sports, Netflix's daily active users (DAU) in South Korea also increased.
The DAU on Dec. 26, the day of the release of “Squid Game” season 2, was 4,128,302 (based on Insight Mobile Index data), a 37.6 percent increase from the previous day.
