Live-in partners shot dead in Quezon


LOPEZ, Quezon – A 55-year-old farmer and a 71-year-old woman were shot dead in their house in Barangay Calantipayan here on Saturday, Dec. 28.

Police identified the victims as live-in partners Armando Mendoza Lapuz and Melia Toriaga Leona.

Investigation said the victims were sleeping when three men arrived and shot them. They died on the spot from multiple bullet wounds.

The suspects fled on board a motorcycle toward Maharlika Highway. 

The victims’ bodies were discovered by their niece Ronalyn Condez at 7 a.m. Barangay kagawad Eduardo Dumaguin was informed of the incident and coordinated with the police.

Police have a person of interest, Danny, a resident of the area. His two companions were unidentified.

Armando was the POI in the killing of Danny’s father Angel in 2014.

Police are eyeing revenge as motive in the killing. A manhunt is underway against the suspects.
