Quiapo Church announces schedule of Nazareno 2025 activities

The Quiapo Church has released the schedule of activities for the Feast of Jesus Nazareno in 2025, in preparation for the celebration on January 9.

With a theme 1 Samuel 15:22: "Mas mabuti ang pagsunod kaysa paghahandog" (It is better to obey than to sacrifice for those who hope in Jesus), the schedule provides a variety of religious activities leading up to the Feast of Jesus Nazareno, with special masses, processions, and prayers, honoring the Jesus Nazareno.

The church's activities, along with those at Quirino Grandstand, are as follows:

Quiapo Church Activities

  • December 31, 2024: Walk of Thanksgiving at 12 a.m. (Assembly on the evening of December 30)
  • January 1 to 6, 2025: Barangay Visitation (Basic Ecclesial Community – Quiapo District)
  • January 2, 2025:
    • 1:30 p.m. – Nuestro Padre Jesus Nazareno Replica & Standarte Blessing
  • January 3, 2025 (1st Friday of the Year):
    • Mass Schedule:
      • Morning: 4 a.m. to 11 a.m. (every hour)
      • Afternoon: 12:15 p.m. to 8 p.m. (every hour)
  • January 8, 2025:
    • Morning Mass Schedule: 5 a.m. to 12:15 p.m.
    • Fiesta Masses in the afternoon and evening: 3 p.m. to 11 p.m. (every hour)
  • January 9, 2025 (Feast Day):
    • Morning Mass Schedule: 12 a.m. to 11 a.m. (every hour)
    • Afternoon Mass Schedule: 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. (every hour)
    • Evening Mass Schedule: 6 p.m. to 11 p.m. (every hour)

Quirino Grandstand Activities

  • January 6, 2025:
    • 6 p.m. – Mass for the Volunteers
  • January 7 to 9, 2025: Pahalik (Devotional kissing of the statue of the Black Nazarene)
  • January 8, 2025:
    • 3 p.m. – Band Parade
    • 5 p.m. – Panalangin sa Takipsilim (Vigil and Program)
  • January 9, 2025:
    • 12 a.m. – Misa Mayor (Solemn Mass) presided by H.E. Jose F. Cardinal Advincula Jr., Archbishop of Manila
    • 1 a.m. – Continuation of Vigil and Program
    • Panalangin sa Bukang-liwayway (Dawn Prayer)
