Pasig LGU releases list of banned firecrackers, fireworks


As the New Year approaches, the local government of Pasig has released the list of prohibited firecrackers, based on the issuance of the Philippine National Police (PNP)-Civil Security Group, along with the designated pyrotechnic zones in the city’s barangays to ensure a safe and joyful celebration in welcoming 2025.

The directive follows Pasig City Ordinance No. 69, s. 2017, or the “Firecracker Regulation Ordinance,” further reinforced by Executive Order No. PCG-60, s. 2022.
 
Pasigueños planning to use fireworks are encouraged to visit the official Facebook page of the Pasig Public Information Office for the designated pyrotechnic zones in each barangay.
 
The local government emphasized that these zones were identified by barangay officials and inspected and cleared by the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP).
 
“Bawal magpaputok sa labas ng designated firecracker at pyrotechnic zones (Fireworks are strictly prohibited outside designated firecracker and pyrotechnic zones),” it strictly reminded.
 
Meanwhile, the following firecrackers and pyrotechnic devices are prohibited under the guidelines set by the PNP, in accordance with EO No. 28 and Republic Act 7183:

  • Five Star (big)
  • Giant Bawang
  • Giant Whistle Bomb
  • Goodbye Bading
  • Goodbye Chismosa
  • Goodbye Philippines

  • Goodbye Napoles
  • Hello Columbia
  • Kabasi
  • Kingkong
  • Kwiton
  • Large-size Judas Belt
  • Lolo Thunder
  • Mother Rockets
  • Piccolo
  • Pillbox
  • Pla-pla
  • Poppop
  • Special
  • Super Lolo
  • Super Yolanda
  • Tuna
  • Watusi

Violators will face a P5,000 fine and the confiscation of firecrackers, pyrotechnic devices, and other explosive materials.
 
“Hangad namin ang ligtas at masayang pagsalubong sa Bagong Taon para sa lahat ng Pasigueño, kaya naman inaasahan ang kooperasyon ng lahat patungkol dito (We wish all Pasigueños a safe and joyful New Year celebration and call for everyone’s cooperation in this matter),” the local government appealed.
