Holiday safety first: Bulacan police destroy thousands of seized fireworks

The Bulacan Police Provincial Office (BPPO), led by Director Col. Satur Ediong, successfully carried out the safe disposal of seized illegal fireworks and pyrotechnic devices on Friday, December 27, at Camp General Alejo Santos in Malolos City, Bulacan.

During this event, a total of 13,213 confiscated items, valued at P132,800, were destroyed in accordance with stringent safety protocols to mitigate any potential hazards during the holiday season. 

The disposed items included: 

• Piccolo: 120 pieces 

• Poppop: 50 pieces 

• Fivestar: 2,934 pieces 

• Pla-Pla: 1,580 pieces 

• Giant Bawang: 1 piece 

• Giant Whistle Bomb: 2 pieces 

• Atomic Triangle: 10 pieces 

• Large Judas Belt: 22 pieces 

• Goodbye Delima/Bin Laden: 10 pieces 

• Kwitis: 10,200 pieces 

• Boga: 214 pieces

This operation is part of the BPPO's commitment to ensuring public safety and preventing the potential dangers associated with illegal pyrotechnics, which can threaten lives and property. 

Director Ediong highlighted the necessity of rigorous enforcement against illegal fireworks and encouraged the community to support these initiatives by purchasing from authorized vendors and following safety regulations. 

"The Bulacan Police Provincial Office is dedicated to safeguarding the public and ensuring a safe, peaceful, and joyful holiday season for everyone," he stated. 

This initiative underscores the police force's commitment to maintaining public order and reducing the risks linked to illegal pyrotechnics, thereby promoting a safer environment for the residents of Bulacan. 

The event was attended by notable officials, including Attorney Jayric Amil, the Secretariat Head of the Provincial Regulatory Board (PRB) and Department Head of the Bulacan Provincial Cooperative and Enterprise Development Office, as well as Dominique Bartolome from the Bulacan Environment and Natural Resources Office (BENRO) and Malolos City Sanitation Inspector Daisy A. De Guzman.
