DOLE: 'Kasambahay' monthly salary in NCR to increase by P500

Household workers in Metro Manila will have a good start to 2025 as they are set to receive an increase to their monthly wage rate starting Jan. 4, the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) has announced.

Wage Order No. NCR-DW-05, approved by the Regional Tripartite Wages and Productivity Board (RTWPB), provides a monthly increase of P500 for “kasambahays” in the National Capital Region (NCR).

DOLE said the adjustment raises the minimum wage for household workers to P7,000 from the current P6,500.

It added that the new rate applies to all household workers in Metro Manila, regardless of whether they are live-in or live-out staff.

The increase follows consultations and public hearings that considered the needs of household workers, employers' capacity to pay, and the region’s prevailing socioeconomic conditions.
