Baguio logs 4 fireworks-related injuries

BAGUIO CITY – Four fireworks-related injuries have been recorded in this city as of Thursday, Dec. 26.

POLICE arrested an online seller of illegal firecrackers in Baguio City on Christmas Day.

The City Health Services Office said the four victims were all minors.

Three of them were injured by “boga” or improvised cannon and the fourth sustained a right thumb blast injury due to Five Star.

Mayor Benjamin Magalong hopes that no more people will be injured by fireworks and requested the Baguio City Police Office, Public Order and Safety Division, and barangays to work hand-in-hand in the implementation of the firecrackers ban here.

Meanwhile, the Baguio City Police Office arrested an online seller of illegal firecrackers here on Christmas Day.

BCPO Director Police Col. Ruel Tagel said the suspect was arrested after delivering banned pyrotechnics worth a total of P10,000 on Upper Abanao St., Barangay AZCKO.
