Misa de Gallo in Region 2 generally peaceful

CAMP MARCELO A. ADDURU, Tuguegarao City, Cagayan – Police said the nine-day Misa de Gallo throughout Region 2 or the Cagayan Valley region from Dec. 16 to 24 was generally peaceful.

Police Brig. Gen. Antonio P. Marallag Jr., Police Regional Office-2 director, credited this achievement to the strict implementation of the Ligtas Paskuhan 2024 initiative and the diligent efforts and preparedness of the regional police.

Marallag said 1,145 police personnel were deployed to churches and other popular gathering areas.

He vowed to ensure the safety of the people during the holiday season.

“The gallant ‘Valley’ cops are committed to maximizing police visibility during this season. Our officers will be consistently on patrol, ready to address any concerns and provide assistance as needed. Your safety is our top priority, and we encourage everyone to cooperate with our personnel, report suspicious activities, and practice personal safety measures,” Marallag said.

Meanwhile, the PRO-2 conducted an inspection of firecracker stores in the region and 349 prohibited firecrackers or pyrotechnic devices were voluntarily surrendered.
