Around 12,000 members of 90 Tricycle Operators and Drivers Associations (TODA) in Pasig City received Emergency Go Bags from the city government in preparation for the coming holiday festivities.
The city government said the distribution is part of its expanded efforts to ensure the safety and welfare of Pasigueños in case of emergencies and disasters.
The local government unit (LGU) had earlier distributed Emergency Go Bags in different public and private schools, hospitals, and government offices. It added that Go Bags will also be deployed in PUVs and public markets in the city.
In January, the city government started the distribution of Emergency Go Bags to households in Pasig.
Each Pasigueño family will receive one Emergency Go Bag containing the following emergency supplies and equipment:
- Flash light
- Glowstick
- Whistle
- Thermal blanket
- Heavy duty scissors
- Zip lock bag
- Sticker
- Magnet
- Family disaster preparedness booklet
- First aid kit (hard case containing alcohol pads, povidone iodine, cotton balls, sterile gauze, medical tape, adhesive antiseptic strip, triangular bandage, elastic bandage)
"Ang Emergency Go Bags ay isa lamang parte ng "preparedness" component ng disaster risk reduction and management sa Lungsod ng Pasig. Bukod pa rito ay nagsasagawa rin ng iba't ibang capacity building activities sa mga barangay, schools, at iba pang sector ang Disaster Risk Reduction and Management (Pasig City DRRMO) para sa preparedness at iba pang aspeto ng DRRM katulad ng response at recovery (The Emergency Go Bags is just one of the parts of the "preparedness" component of the city's disaster risk reduction and management. Aside from this, the Pasig DRRMO also conducts different capacity building activities in barangays, schools, and other sectors on preparedness and other aspects of DRRM such as emergency response and recovery)," it explained.
