Resort guests robbed of P1 M on Christmas Eve


TAYABAS CITY, Quezon – A couple and their companions were robbed of almost P1 million in valuables in a resort in Barangay Calumpang here on Christmas Eve.

Police identified the victims as Christopher Tamayo, 43, his wife Shiela, 38, and companions Bomer Marfil Quising, 28, and George D. Rogelio, 38.

The Tamayos lost a handbag with pieces of jewelry valued at P1 million, cash, iPhones, credit, debit, and ID cards, driver's licenses, a gun and two magazines with bullets, firearms registration, permit to carry, and car key.

Missing from Quising and Rogelio were bags, cash, and cellular phones.

Investigation said that the victims were sleeping in separate rooms when the suspect wearing short pants, mask, and black jacket climbed the concrete fence of the resort and entered their rooms and carted away their belongings. 

Police are conducting follow-up investigation and backtracking surveillance footages for the identification and apprehension of the suspect and the recovery of stolen items.
