Girl, 6, killed in Christmas Day motorcycle-SUV collision


CEBU CITY – A six-year-old girl was killed in a vehicular accident in Barangay Langtad, Naga City, southern Cebu on Christmas Day.

The girl’s parents were critically injured in the accident on the national highway at past 2 a.m. 

Police identified the fatality as Caroline Delute. Injured were Deidre Delute, 26, and his wife Jennifer.

Police said the victims were aboard a motorcycle when they were hit by a Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV).

Police said the SUV, driven by Wise Knight Sejaldo dela Torre, 21, a resident of Simala, Sibonga, Cebu, was reportedly speeding when it hit the motorcycle.

The victims, residents of Barangay Pardo, Cebu City, were taken to the Vicente Sotto Memorial Medical Center where Caroline was declared dead.

Charges for reckless imprudence resulting in homicide, physical injuries, and damage to property will be filed against Dela Torre who was brought to the Naga City Police Station after the accident.
