BACOLOD CITY – A 36-year-old electrician was hit and killed by a van in Sitio Overflow, Barangay Orong, Kabankalan City, Negros Occidental, on Christmas Eve.

Investigation showed that the motorcycle of the victim, Rolan Alcontin, suddenly encountered mechanical trouble.
Alcontin pushed the motorcycle to the roadside.
The victim was kickstarting the motorcycle when a panel van sideswiped him.
He was taken to a hospital where he was declared dead due to injuries.
