“Thank God that no untoward incident happened,” PRO 13-Regional Public Information Office  chief Police Major Jennifer S. Ometer said.

“This year’s Christmas celebration, during the period Dec. 16 to Dec. 25, 2024, was generally peaceful compared to the same period last year,” Ometer added.

She attributed the lower crime rate to the intensified anti-criminality and public safety campaign launched by the PRO-13 under the Ligtas Paskuhan 2024 program and the full support and cooperation of all government line agencies, local government units, and the people.

The PRO-13 remains on full alert, the highest level of readiness in all police office and headquarters in Caraga, until the New Year and hundreds of policemen have been deployed in the region.

PRO-13 officer-in-charge Police Col. Michael F. Lebanan instructed all Caraga police commanders to maximize police visibility around churches, public places, terminals, air, and sea ports and be on the lookout for criminals  engaged in street crimes such as mugging, swindling, robbery and theft, and burglary.

“Everybody must be on lookout around their respective areas of responsibility,” Ometer said.
