In his message on Christmas day, Marcos told Filipinos to focus on living a meaningful and purposeful life and wished every household love and peace.

"As Filipinos take this highly anticipated chance to come home, reconnect with loved ones, and relish the blessings of the past year, I call on everyone to reflect on what is truly important: living a life of meaning and purpose," Marcos said on Wednesday, Dec. 25.

"By doing so, may the bustle and spirit of Christmas make love and peace abound in every household and instill in us a deeper appreciation of the strength that comes from our relationship with Christ and each other," he added.

The President said this occasion is a crucial part of the faithful's deeply-held beliefs. He added that it also marks "the moment we experience the presence of God in its nearest and most intimate form, evoking gratitude, kindness, and happiness to one and all."

"This makes both the celebration and significance of Christmas transcend the constraints of religion, extending its invitation of joy and thanksgiving to everyone no matter their background," he said.

He further encouraged the citizenry to "emulate the light that led the wise men to meet the infant in the manger so others may see and experience the hope that the Lord Almighty freely offers to us all."

Celebrate Christmas

The First Family, in a video message, also encouraged Filipinos to celebrate Christmas even in simple ways.

The President said amid all challenges, Filipinos never fail to celebrate Christmas, saying Christmas in the Philippines is the happiest in the world.

First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos invited Filipinos to visit the country's tourist's spots. Ilocos Norte 1st district Representative Sandro Marcos also enjoined everyone to adore the city's and provinces' beauty.

The two presidential sons—Simon and Vince—for their part encouraged everyone to visit the country's beautiful churches and share a meal with family and friends.

"Hindi naman kailangang magarbo, dahil nasaan mang sulok ng bansa, anuman ang ating kalagayan, ang Pasko sa Pilipino ay pagmamahalan at pagbibigayan. Ang Pasko sa Pilipino ay pamilya (Even though not grand, everywhere in the country, whatever our situation is, Filipino Christmas is about love and giving. Christmas for Filipinos is family," the Chief Executive said.
