“This feat was the product of our collective effort. We look forward for a stronger partnership and collaboration in our future endeavors,” said Police Brig. Gen. Jack Wanky, Police Regional Office-6 chief.
The PRO-6 said crime incidents dropped by 35.12 percent.
Wanky said only 484 criminal incidents were recorded from Dec. 16 to 25 compared to the 746 in the same period last year.
Police Lt. Col. Arnel Solis, PRO-6 spokesperson, noted a 76.47 percent decline in eight focus crimes.
Solis said there were only 24 murder, homicide, physical injury, rape, robbery, theft, carnapping of motor vehicle, and carnapping of motorcycle from Dec. 16 to 25, 78 fewer than the 102 last year.
The decline was attributed to the more than 2,000 policemen deployed in Aklan, Antique, Capiz, Guimaras, Iloilo, and Negros Occidental provinces as well as the highly urbanized cities of Iloilo and Bacolod.
