Man dies in Christmas Eve vehicular accident

ILOILO CITY – A 27-year-old man transporting food was killed in a motorcycle accident here on Christmas Eve.

Authorities identified the victim as Vicmar Vintar Villanueva, a resident of Passi City.

Investigation said Villanueva was driving a motorcycle on the way to Leganes, Iloilo when it collided with a 10-wheel truck driven by Ronald Lara bound for Jaro District in Barangay Lanit.

Investigation added that the truck may have been moving fast as the motorcycle was dragged 70 meters away.

Villanueva was taken to the West Visayas Medical Center here where he was declared dead.

Friends and family of the victim denied online that he was driving under the influence. Lara said in a radio interview that Villanueva was driving fast and might have caused the accident.
