The seminars seek to strengthen its enforcement capabilities through an extensive deputation program.
The agency has conducted multiple deputation seminars for over 100 qualified deputized agents over the last four months to enable them to become LTO's partners in the implementation of traffic laws.
The latest deputation seminar was conducted this month with 20 personnel from the PCG and two from the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board.
"With guidance from our LTO chief Assistant Secretary Atty. Vigor Mendoza, we have conducted these seminars to support our own personnel, and we are grateful for their support of our agency," said LTO-7 Regional Director Glen G. Galario.
Galario added that even though he has recommended deputation orders for these new deputized agents, the final order will still come from Mendoza.
"In November of this year, our partners from the Highway Patrol Group of the Philippine National Police were given approved deputation orders from Mendoza, but we have yet to issue these orders pending the issuance of their deputation IDs that will be signed by the LTO chief himself," added Galario.
A total of 20 personnel from PNP-HPG 7 were deputized by LTO.
The agency also conducted the deputation seminar early this month for personnel of the Cebu City Transportation Office to support its law enforcement in the city.
In October, 80 new applicants underwent the deputation seminar from the office of the Police Regional Office-7.
"We also conducted a refresher course for the existing 71 deputized agents of PRO-7 in the same month. This is to ensure that these agents are updated with our traffic laws, including the latest developments in their implementations," said Galario.
Currently, LTO-7 has a total of 368 deputized agents from the agency and partner-agencies.
