Agents of the Drug Enforcement Group of the Philippine National Police (PDEG) seized around P4.7 million worth of shabu following the arrest of five people in separate buy-busts in Taguig City.

PDEG director Brig. Gen. Eleazar Matta said the first operation was conducted at around 5:45 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 23, in Western Bicutan which resulted in the arrest of two suspected drug pushers

Seized from them were around 500 grams with a street value of P3.4 million.

At around 10 p.m. the same day, PDEG operatives seized another 200 grams of shabu worth P1.3 million after the arrest of three people in Maharlika Village.

“The successful buy-bust operation carried out by the PNP-DEG has effectively dismantled a dangerous drug group, safeguarding local communities from further harm. With millions of pesos worth of illegal drugs seized, this operation has greatly contributed to the safety of the area,” said Matta.

He said the arrested suspects are now detained and facing drug charges.
