Cops nab rape suspect on Christmas Eve

CAMP MALVAR, Batangas City – Police arrested a rape suspect on Christmas Eve in Barangay Pulong Niogan, Mabini, Batangas.

Batangas police director Police Col. Jacinto Malinao Jr. identified the suspect as Rey, 24, single.

The suspect was apprehended on a warrant of arrest issued by Judge Maria Concepcion A. Billones, presiding judge, Fourth Judicial Region, Regional Trial Court, Branch 1, Batangas City dated Feb. 20, 2024.

No bail was recommended for his release.

Malinao commended arresting officers. “I commend the efforts of our officers, whose dedication to justice led to the capture of a wanted criminal. We remain committed to making Batangas a safer place for all.”

Rey allegedly committed the crime on July 10, 2023. The victim filed a complaint against him and police searched for the suspect until he was caught.

The suspect is detained at the Mabini Municipal Police Station custodial facility.
