14 hurt in Lucena City road mishap

LUCENA CITY, Quezon – Fourteen persons were injured when their van rammed a concrete center island in Barangay Domoit here on Dec. 24.

Police said the driver of the Nissan Urvan Escape van with license plates UVX-477 was killed.

The fatality was wearing a yellow T-shirt and maong pants and was taken to the Quezon Medical Center here where he was declared dead.

The injured were John Mar, 29; Erna, 33; Khynny, 6; Norlie, 38; Rame, 25; Janice, 36; Robie, 58; Rodel, 34; Jeffrey, 35; Mary Ann, 42; Jonald, 31; Josephine, 26; Emma,  50, and Jessie,  51.

They were treated at the Quezon Medical Center.

Police said the driver allegedly lost control of the vehicle and crashed. The victims were reportedly on their way to Bicol from Manila.
