Police Lt. Col. Alvimar Flores, Sagay police chief, said 51-year-old driver failed to control the vehicle due to heavy rain on the descending curved part of the road at around 8:55 p.m. The ambulance rammed a wooden waiting shed on the opposite lane.

Flores said the ambulance driver and the child’s parents sustained injuries and are now recuperating in a hospital.

Police are awaiting the family’s decision if they will file a case against the ambulance driver. The ambulance was transporting the patient who had a seizure.
