Rizal Governor Nina Ricci Ynares said they awarded ₱20,000 cash to each of the 35 summa cum laude awardees, ₱10,000 each to 210 magna cum laude, and ₱5,000 each to cum laude awardees.

“Your hard work, dedication and perseverance have brought us to this memorable moment,” Ynares said to the awardees during simple rites on Dec. 20 at the Ynares Event Center in Antipolo City.
The awardees, all residents of the province, came from various public and private schools in the country.

Quality education for the youth of the province is among the provincial government's major programs including the "Iskolar Ni Gob" program that has been providing scholarship to poor but academic achiever students in the province.
Ynares said the financial incentives are the provincial government's way of encouraging the youth to strive hard and value their education.
