The initiative, named Kadiwa of Guiguinto "Rice for All," is a collaborative project between the Bulacan Rice Millers & Importers Association (BRIA) and the Office of the First District of Bulacan. Its aim is to provide affordable rice to Bulakenyo families, ensuring that this essential staple remains accessible to all.
Guiguinto Mayor Attorney Agatha Paula A. Cruz shared that the launch of Kadiwa of Guiguinto on Dec. 23 will serve as a pilot test for the program.
"If all goes well, the P40 per kilo 'Rice for All' project will officially be rolled out across the province starting Jan. 6," she said.
She expressed her hopes for the success of the program, emphasizing its potential to bring significant relief to families during the holiday season.
"Sana magtagumpay tayo sa programang ito dahil malaking tulong ito sa mga mamamayan lalo na ngayong ipagdiriwang ng sang kakristiyanuhan ang pagsilang ng Prinsipe ng kapayapaan. Pagkaraan ng pasko ay ipagdiriwang naman ang pagsalubong ng Bagong Taon (Hope we'll succeed in this program because it will greatly help the people, especially now that Christianity will celebrate the birth of the Prince of Peace. After Christmas, the New Year will be celebrated)," Cruz said.
The project’s timing coincides with the celebration of Christmas and New Year, aiming to alleviate the financial burden on families during the festive season.
