P50 Caraga minimum wage hike approved


BUTUAN CITY – The Regional Tripartite Wages and Productivity Board-Caraga has approved Wage Order No. RXIII-19 mandating a P50 increase to bring the daily minimum wage for private sector workers in the region.

The RTWPB-13 also approved Wage Order No. RXIII-DW-05 setting the minimum monthly wage for domestic workers in the Caraga region at P6,000.

The new wage orders will take effect on Jan. 2.

The P50 increase will be implemented in two tranches: P30 on Jan. 2 and P20 on May 1. 

These adjustments will bring the new minimum daily wage to P435 on Jan. 2 and P455 on Labor Day .

The wage orders were approved following thorough deliberations by the regional wage board which considered socio-economic indicators such as inflation, poverty threshold, and consumer price index, along with opinions and suggestions from employers and workers during public consultations and hearings last October and November.
