UST announces record-breaking crowd of 42,000 at Paskuhan 2024

The University of Santo Tomas (UST) announced a record-breaking turnout for this year’s grand Paskuhan concert, with a total of 42,655 Thomasians in attendance, on Friday, December 20.

The final crowd count provided by the Campus Safety and Security Office showed a significant increase from the 39,638 attendees recorded during last year’s festivities.

The grand holiday event at the university brought together students, alumni, and music lovers in a festive evening of music, celebration, and Filipino holiday spirit.

This year’s anticipated concert took place at the UST Grandstand and Open Field, culminating the month-long Christmas festivities at the university. 

Before the concert began, a festive parade was held at 2 p.m., marking the official start of the Paskuhan celebrations. 

The grand concert started at 3 p.m., with gates opening as early as 6 a.m. to accommodate thousands of Thomasians and guests. 

The event featured a star-studded lineup of performers, including local bands December Avenue, Spongecola, and SUD, who took center stage and captivated the audience with their chart-topping hits. 

Adding a fresh twist to the celebration, P-pop group Alamat and Filipino singer Maki also performed. There were also performances from the UST Salinggawi Dance Troupe, UST Yellow Jackets, UST Sinag Ballroom Dance Company, and UST Prime. 

The three winning bands from Tunog Tomasino 2024,Coalescence, Jyve!, and Miktinig also performed.

The concert was exclusive to UST students, alumni, and their guests, creating an intimate atmosphere for the Thomasian community to come together and celebrate the season. 

The evening was topped off with the traditional Paskuhan fireworks display, lighting up the night sky and capping the event with a stunning visual spectacle that left the audience in awe.
