Melai Cantiveros-Francisco, family enjoy winter in Korea through visa-free entry


Filipino actress and comedian Melai Cantiveros-Francisco is in Korea this December to experience family fun in Korea through visa-free entry to Yangyang International Airport in Gangwon Province. 

The special trip will be from December 18 to 22. .

One of the activities that the participants of the special charter flight experience is a sledding competition at High1 Ski Resort, Korea’s most environmentally friendly ski resort. The winners of this competition were awarded during the group’s welcome gala dinner.

For the rest of the week, Melai and her family were in Gangwon Province and experienced the fun family winter tourist attractions, such as the High1 Ski Resort, Jeongdongjin Railbike, Arte Museum Valley Gangneung, Gangneung Jungang Market, Sky ranch in Pyeongchang, Hallyu filming locations, and wellness experiences.

Melai is with her husband, two daughters and her mother. The favorable feedback from Melai and her family’s escapade will promote Korea’s family fun tourist attractions in the winter season and the visa-free entry program to Gangwon through the Yangyang International Airport.

The Korean government grants visa-free access to Filipino group tours. The special entry privilege applies to arrivals at Yangyang International Airport in Gangwon Province and Jeju International Airport in Jeju Island.

Last May, she was appointed by the Korea Tourism Orgnization (KTO) as an honorary ambassador for promoting Korean Family Tourism in the Philippines. 

As the honorary ambassador for family tourism, Melai is the celebrity representative for the KTO’s family tourism promotional programs in the Philippines. 

Part of her duties as an ambassador is visiting Korea with her family and sharing her experiences with Filipinos.
