Couple arrested for killing, torching neighbor in Batangas

SAN JUAN, Batangas – Police on Wednesday arrested a 53-year-old man and his live-in partner, 53, for allegedly killing and burning a 33-year-old Person with Disability neighbor in Barangay Barualte here on Monday.

Police identified the victim as Mary Jane, a single parent.

The victim’s body was positively identified by her brother through her lips.

The suspects reported to the barangay that they saw burnt parts of an unknown person’s body in their backyard.

Lawmen conducted a follow-up investigation found out that the suspects killed the victim, dismembered her, and burned her body parts.

The suspects are detained at the police station here and face a murder case.
