ILOILO CITY – The Iloilo Police Provincial Office seized suspected shabu valued at more than P8.58 million in the province of Iloilo in November.
The IPPO said 1.2 kilos of shabu were recovered from 33 drug suspects in 26 operations from Nov. 1 to 30.
IPPO chief Police Col. Bayani Razalan cited operating units for their accomplishments.
“The impressive accomplishments in November are a testament to the dedication and hard work of our personnel in combating crime and maintaining peace in Iloilo,” said Razalan in a statement on Monday, Dec. 2.
Ninety-eight wanted persons were nabbed in the 42 towns of Iloilo and component city of Passi. Seventeen were most wanted persons.
Fifty-six persons were caught in 17 operations against illegal gambling.
Seventeen individuals were apprehended for illegal possession of firearms. Twenty-eight firearms were recovered. Seventeen unlicensed guns were surrendered and nine with expired licenses were deposited for safekeeping.
In the campaign against illegal fishing, 62 people were arrested with the assistance of the Bantay Dagat (sea patrol). Illegally caught fish worth P77,800 was confiscated and 46 fishing boats were impounded.
The IPPO arrested 18 drivers and impounded 18 trucks for illegal quarrying.
Razalan assured the people that they are safe this Christmas season. “As we prepare for the Yuletide season, we assure the public of our commitment to ensuring safety and security for everyone.”
