Roxas City Mayor Ronnie Dadivas led the groundbreaking on Sunday, Dec. 1, at the Pueblo de Panay township.
“This is not just a building. This is a testament to the dreams and aspirations that we shared for our beloved Roxas City,” said Dadivas. “This is part of our vision for a bigger, better, and brighter Roxas City,” added Dadivas.
The new City Hall is a public-private partnership between the local government unit and developer Pueblo de Panay Inc.
“This is fueled by our shared commitment to community development and progress,” said Jose Nery “Bub” Ong, president and chief executive officer of Pueblo de Panay Inc.
“The synthesis is setting the stage for a transformative project that will redefine the landscape of our beloved city,” added Ong.
The Dadivas administration followed the Capiz provincial government that decided to relocate its seat of power from the heart of Roxas City to Pueblo township.
“By transferring the City Hall to this location, we are preserving the heart of our city – our heritage zone and historical structures,” said Dadivas.
“Urbanization brings progress but it can also post threats to our history. This decision ensures that our past is preserved even as we embrace the future,” added Dadivas.
Gov. Fredenil Castro led the groundbreaking ceremony for the new Capiz provincial capitol in Pueblo de Panay last January.
