'Christmas by the Lake' opens in Taguig

The Taguig City government welcomed the yuletide season by opening the Christmas by the Lake, an outdoor attraction.

It is located in the Lakeshore Area along Laguna Lake Highway in Barangay Lower Bicutan.

Now on its third year, the Christmas by the Lake showcases animated displays and the Northern Lights experience, a first in the country.

Inspired by aurora borealis (northern lights), or natural light display in the sky, the light show fills the night sky with vibrant colors of green, purple, and blue.

Also on display at the park is a Giant Christmas Tree, a revolving display that lights up the entire attraction.

In her message, Mayor Lani Cayetano said, “I hope that all who visit our park will experience the magic of the Christmas season and create happy and unforgettable memories with their friends, families, and loved ones.”

It also features the Tagpuan sa Kapaskuhan Art Exhibit at the Glass House showcasing the works of local artists.

Other attractions at Christmas by the Lake are Lights of Christmas Park, Walkway of Lights, TLC Food Park, Graffiti area, and Mercado Del Lago Floating Village.

Admission to the park is free and visitors are encouraged to book online or via phone although walk-ins are also allowed.

Christmas by the Lake is open daily until Jan. 12 but will be closed on Dec. 24, 25 and 31, and Jan. 1.

The operating hours are:

Monday to Thursday: 5 p.m. - 10 p.m.

Friday and Saturday: 5 p.m. - 11 p.m.

Sunday: 5 p.m. - 10 p.m.

Priority lanes are available for senior citizens, persons with disabilities, and pregnant women. Pets are allowed under certain conditions.
