Bacolod releases P100-M healthcare assistance

BACOLOD CITY – The city government has released P100.4 million in healthcare assistance to more than 10,000 recipients of the Bacolod City Comprehensive Health Program.

As of November, 267,319 members have been registered to the healthcare program, and 71,887 cards have been issued, ensuring beneficiaries access to essential health services. A total of 10,758 patients have been served.

The BacCHP was launched in 2022 to provide free and quality healthcare to the marginalized and underserved sectors here.

The program covers a wide range of medical services, including consultations, hospitalizations, laboratory procedures, and medications.

Mayor Albee Benitez thanked all hospitals in this city for their active partnership to BacCHP, as the city envisions to build a healthier Bacolod, and continues to ensure an accessible and inclusive healthcare for its people.

These seven hospitals are the Adventist Medical Center, South Bacolod General Hospital, Bacolod Queen of Mercy Hospital, Dr. Pablo O. Torre Memorial Hospital (Riverside Medical Center), Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital, Metro Bacolod Hospital and Medical Center, and Doctor’s Hospital.

As Bacolod aims to become a “super city,” Benitez said that healthcare is a fundamental right, not a privilege.

By combining modern technology with efficient resource allocation, the program ensures transparency, ease of access, and the prioritization of the welfare of the people of Bacolod, Benitez added.
